Plot Screenshot from the first "page" of Comix Zone It explores how the gameplay and the comic book elements would blend in. The concept for the game originated from a 1992 demo video for the Amiga titled "Joe Pencil Trapped In The Comix Zone", animated by Peter Morawiec. This style is in previous video games, for example Ocean Software's Batman: The Caped Crusader in 1988, but Comix Zone stretched the idea to such an extent that Sega applied for and was granted a patent for a "videogame system for creating a simulated comic book game". It is set within the panels of a comic book with dialogue rendered within talk bubbles and sprites, and backgrounds possessing the bright colors and dynamic drawing style of superhero comics. Comix Zone is a 1995 beat 'em up video game developed and published by Sega for the Genesis. When there is an enemy and some sort of a destroying object (such as a stake or fan), get on the opposite side of the enemy and roll him/her towards the object. Immediately after that you cannot see him, but he is pacing around there. In the second page of "Welcome To The Temple", if you lost Roadkill, pick him up after the double staked gate at the beginning. Destroy the crawler and hit the wall on the side multiple times. In "Welcome To The Temple Part 1", when you get to the place with three rocks stacked up atop each other, simply take the left route. He will find a secret passage leading down to two question marks. At the bottom of the cave, release Roadkill. In "Curse Of The Dead Ships Part 1", continue along past the panel with multiple of mines. It works better because then the enemy cannot block a strange, rapid set of blows. When you are fighting, use an up/down button control attack. Often when you use a bomb (dynamite) on an enemy, he/she will fall back and then fall on you. Each takes 15 hits before they are killed. If there is a bar on top, jump up and grab it, then press. When there are two enemies on the screen to fight (as in a case like one of the last panels with two Strigels), move away from one of them if they throw fire balls.
